Vikari’i

Overview

Masters of exploration, hunting, and discovery, the Vikari’i are the most specialized of the three Olmorani guilds. While the Hadrai’da and Djinn both cover general mercenary and transport-related contracts respectively, the Vikari’i service nearly every other kind of request. Whether it be searching for a long-lost artifact, mapping out an unexplored region of the Wilds, or tracking and capturing a rare ara’atan, anything that can be done, a Vikari’i will do…for the right price.

However, because of their more unique line of work and the fewer number of contracts that fall under their umbrella, the Vikari’i are the least numerous of the Olmorani. Clans are generally made up of Vikari’i who share the same skillset as one-another so that veterans are able to impart knowledge on newer members.

While they do not provide the most sought-after services, usually when clients do require the Vikari’i, it is for jobs of great importance or urgency. Coupled with their often hard-to-find skillsets, it should come as no surprise that the Vikari’i are the most well-paid Olmorani.

Ranking System

Similar to the Hadrai’da and Djinn, the Vikari’i also have their own reputation point-based ranking system. There are 10 total ranks, and in order to ascend to the next rank, in addition to the accrual of a certain number of reputation points, each Vikari’i must also pass a specified rank-based examination. Due to the limited number of Vikari’i and available contracts, unlike Hadrai’da and Djinn, Vikari’i are not allowed to join contract tiers above their rank, even if there is an appropriately ranked Vikari’i leading the assignment.

Pay Scale

Pay for Vikari’i contracts can be calculated based on five main factors: Duration, Difficulty/Rank, Danger, Type, and Importance/Urgency.

The base rate for a contract is 4,000 Mojans/day (~570 USD/day), with this number being multiplied based on the below table.

Ex. A week-long, rank 2, slightly dangerous, object hunting contact of moderate importance: 4,000 x 1.3 x 1.2 x 1.1 x 1.4 x 1.2 = ~11,530 Mojans/day (~1,650 USD/day) or a total of ~80,720 Mojans (~11,530 USD)

Ex 2. A month-long, rank X, deadly, ara’atan hunting contract of extreme importance: 4,000 x 1.5 x 10 x 7 x 2 x 2 = 1,680,000 Mojans/day (240,000 USD/day) or a total of 35,280,000 Mojans (5,040,000 USD)

Clans & Alliances

Clans and Alliances act as sub-guilds within the Vikari’i, allowing members to form organized groups with the intent of promoting collaboration and cooperation. These groups are given the ability to name themselves as well as bear unique insignias, recognized by the Vikari’i and other Olmorani guilds.

A “Clan” consists of up to 20 members of any rank, however to found and lead one, a Vikari’i must be at least of the Chieftain rank. Clans tend to only be of the same type of Vikari’i (hunters, explorers, etc.) so that equipment, resources, and knowledge can be shared amongst members.

An “Alliance” consists of up to 5 Clans and serves as a greater partnership between those Clans. Headed by a Vikari’i of at least the Grand Elder rank, usually Alliances will have high ranking representatives from each member Clan convene together to form councils for decision-making purposes regarding matters involving the Alliance in order to ensure a single individual does not ever hold too much power.

Clans and Alliances will generally take a small portion of members’ completed contract rewards as a fee that goes toward paying for exclusive benefits and services, equipment, supplies, etc. Additionally, Clans and Alliance are allowed to establish their own headquarters, at which Synchro Index terminals can be installed, making these HQs one of the only privately-owned locations where such terminals can be found.
