Ara’atan Overview

Ara’atan is the name for all creatures that are native to Kylia. Extremely varied and diverse, from size to diet to habitat, ara’atan exist all across and throughout the planet. All ara’atan have a naturally incorporated genki system within their bodies, meaning they are capable of channeling the power of the Paragons to cast what would be considered the raw versions of jumon spells. Ara’atan of the same species all share the same Paragon, however the capacity and efficacy to which members of the same species can utilize genki varies significantly.

Ara’atan are also classified into 10 different categories based on their presumed power levels. Harmless or near-harmless creatures are ranked with lower numbers while more dangerous ara’atan are given higher numbered ranks. These classifications are determined by a number of factors, including perceived threat, predictability (or lack thereof), physical capabilities, natural demeanor, and population.
