Djinn

Overview

Experts in transportation, cargo, and shipping, the Djinn leverage their profound knowledge and mastery of navigation and geography to operate as Kylia’s premiere courier service.

Due to the nature of their work, Djinn are almost always expert pilots or drivers, and will tend to own their own vehicles, many of which are large freighters, frigates, or anything that is capable of hauling significant loads of cargo. They are expected to know shipping lanes and safe routes when traveling outside citadel walls, but often will still work in tandem with Hadrai’da as an added security measure.

Given the necessitation for large-scale vehicle crews, the Djinn are the most numerous of the three Olmorani guilds. With considerations as well to the distance between nations and even cities within individual nations, and the extremely unforgiving wilderness outside those cities and citadels, being able to navigate safely and quickly, especially when transporting essential supplies, is an indispensable asset.

Ranking System

Like the other two Olmorani guilds, the Djinn utilize a hierarchical ranking system that consists of 10 ranks, each requiring a scaling number of reputation points to unlock. Usually, contract tiers set minimum rank requirements for members to be able to join said contracts. However, unlike the Hadrai’da and Vikari’i, because Djinn often operate together as large parties, manning ships, trains, and other multi-personnel vehicles that often require lower rank crewmembers, the minimum rank for joining contracts does not exist outside of the Apprentice rank and Djinn are not required to pass an examination to ascend in rank until they reach Captain.

Pay Scale

Pay for Djinn contracts can be calculated based on four main factors: Duration, Cargo, Difficulty/Rank, and Importance/Urgency.

The base rate for a contract is 4,000 Mojans/day (~570 USD/day), with this number being multiplied based on the below table.

Ex. A season-long, perishable cargo, rank 1 contact of minor importance: 4,000 x 1.4 x 1.1 x 1.0 x 1.1 = 6,776 Mojans/day (968 USD/day) or a total of 81,312 Mojans (11,616 USD)

Ex 2. A week-long, daraku cargo, rank X contract of extreme importance: 4,000 x 1 x 3 x 8 x 2 = 192,000 Mojans/day (~27,430 USD/day) or a total of 1,344,000 Mojans (192,000 USD)

Divisions and Fleets

Divisions and Fleets act as sub-guilds, allowing members to form organized groups, which in the case of the Djinn, is essential for ensuring crews are properly staffed. These groups are given the ability to name themselves as well as bear unique insignias, recognized by the Djinn and other Olmorani guilds.

A “Division” consists of up to 50 registered small-class cargo vehicles (10 person crew or less) OR 25 registered medium-class cargo vehicles (20 person crew or less) OR 10 registered large-class cargo vehicles (50 crew or less) OR 5 registered colossal-class cargo vehicles (100 crew or less). Divisions have been granted permission by the Djinn to field multiple different class sizes, adhering to the following point-value ratio:

Maximum of 50 Total Points per Division
Small-Class1 Point
Medium-Class2 Points
Large-Class5 Points
Colossal-Class10 Points

To found and lead a Division, a Djinn must be at least of the Captain rank.

A “Fleet” consists of up to 5 Divisions and serves as a greater alliance between those Divisions. Headed by a Djinn of at least the High Admiral rank, usually Fleets will have high ranking representatives from each member Division convene together to form councils for decision-making purposes regarding matters involving the Fleet in order to ensure a single individual does not ever hold too much power.

Division and Fleets will generally take a small portion of members’ completed contract rewards as a fee that goes toward paying for exclusive benefits and services, vehicle maintenance, equipment, supplies, etc. Additionally, Divisions and Fleets are allowed to establish their own ports, at which Synchro Index terminals can be installed, making these ports among the few privately-owned locations where such terminals can be found.
