A mystical energy that exists only on Kylia, it permeates throughout many native flora and fauna on the planet.
Genki can be divided into seven unique types, called Paragons, each with a distinct color and applied effects. In its natural state, genki is a sort of plasma that continually courses through a special organ system in native wildlife called the thaumatic system. Plants and animals are able to channel their genki to perform otherwise impossible feats. Outside of the body, genki liquifies, becoming a semi-fluorescent substance called daraku. Over time, daraku will harder to form a solid crystal like structure called bolor, which is often used as an energy source to power ships and the like. If daraku is superheated, it becomes vayu, a toxic gas.
Alien species like the avarga and umanu have found ways to be able to harness genki as well, however because they lack a thaumatic system that is necessary to naturally produce genki within their own bodies, they must undergo a special procedure called “indokan” in order for their bodies to accept genki. In doing so, the individual uses their cardiovascular system as a substitute for the missing thaumatic organs. However, once this procedure has taken place, indokan recipients, also known as Seraphs, will inevitably perish if they do not continually receive external supplies of genki to their bodies. For nearly all Seraphs, the primary means of replenishing their genki is through the injection of a processed form of liquid genki, otherwise known as daraku.
